Staff was amazing - kind and helpful. There was an issue with the pool when we arrived. The pool area was originally the reason we booked the hotel, so this was a huge disappointment. However, staff quickly fixed it and were able to open the pool. Rooms are comfy, clean and huge and we had a balcony overlooking the pool area. The pool area is really great and the pool is huge and deep and thus great for both playing and actual swimming. The fitness room was also good and had more equipment than we have seen in other similar hotels. We also liked the complementary coffee and tea available all offers in reception. This place was around half the price of the surrounding hotels and we got a lot more than we feel that we paid for.

We enjoyed the stay at Hour Glass Hotel, which has undergone recent renovations. The hotel now boasts a modern style that is both clean and visually appealing. The effort to upgrade the space is evident in the contemporary design choices and overall aesthetic. It has a large pool with lots of comfortable space to relax and soak the sun. The hotel is kept clean and comfortable, and the staff are courteous and helpful. If you're looking for a clean, modern place to stay, Hour Glass Hotel is a decent option, but the quality of the renovations might leave you wishing for a bit more attention to detail if you are detailed oriented person like me.

Breakfast didn't impress me. But if. I wanted to have a good breakfast, I would not go to a hotel to get it. Staff interactions were great. I enjoyed the gym, and the jacuzzi. The room also had a jacuzzi, but I didn't get around to enjoy it. That was on me. Great hotel, and the morning front desk girl was awesome. She help me and made my experience staying here that much better.

Loved the warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in too! The hotel grounds are really nice and the pool is beautiful. By far, the best hotel for business or short short stay in all of Bakersfield.
